Frequently asked questions

How do I get the app? It isn't in the store yet

Civil Field Photos is in pre-release testing. On iPhone and iPad, install Apple's TestFlight app and open our TestFlight invite. On Android, follow the three closed-testing steps in the next question. Every Pro feature is unlocked for testers at no charge.

How do I join the Android closed test?

Use the same Google account for all three steps, in this order: 1. join the tester group at groups.google.com/g/civilfieldphotostesters 2. opt in at play.google.com/apps/testing and choose Become a tester — 3. install from the Play Store listing. If Play reports the app as unavailable, step 1 or 2 hasn't gone through yet, or you're signed in with a different account. Google requires testers to stay opted in for at least 14 days, so please leave it installed. Pro is free for testers — Play uses a test card and you are never charged.

How do I export photos?

Open the project, tap Export, and choose PDF or ZIP. The export includes all photos with their overlays, GPS data, and any watermarks you've configured.

Where are my photos stored?

Photos are stored locally on your device. We do not upload them to any server. If you uninstall the app or change phones without exporting, the photos cannot be recovered.

How does the subscription work?

Civil Field Photos is free to try. A subscription unlocks unlimited projects, advanced overlays, and PDF export. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID or Google Play account and can be cancelled at any time from your device's subscription settings.

Can I use the app offline?

Yes. GPS capture works offline because location comes from your device's sensors. Street-address lookup uses native Apple or Google location services when available, so addresses may require network access.

How do I delete my data?

Open Settings → Data management in the app and choose Clear all app data. You can also remove all local data by uninstalling the app. Clearing data does not cancel a subscription; manage that separately through the app's Manage option or your Apple/Google subscription settings.

I found a bug or have a feature request

We'd love to hear it. Email us at support@civilfieldphotos.com with as much detail as possible — device model, iOS/Android version, and steps to reproduce the issue if applicable.
